How Emotional Are You?

Too Emotional? Learn what slants mean in handwriting

Are you guided by your heart or does your head prevail when it comes to showing emotion? In my workbook ‘How Well Do You Know Yourself’, a full chapter is devoted to the topic of Slant. Slant refers to the direction that your letters slope.

  • Do they stand straight and upright?;Slants in handwriting
  • Lean to the right?;
  • Lean to the left?;
  • Or lean every which way?

Page 23 of the workbook will teach you how to measure your letters and pages 24-28 provide full interpretations on what it all means. In essence, it shows whether you extend yourself to others or hold back.

Do you consider yourself sociable and compassionate?

It would suggest that  your letters slant to the right...

Sarcasm in Handwriting

sarcasm

When t-bars are sharply pointed, it shows that the writer is sarcastic. Does this describe your ‘t’s?  This person will make cutting remarks, make humorous statements that are clouded with a cruel edge or use language that is stinging and taunting.

ISarcasmt’s all meant to lower the confidence of the person who is on the receiving end. This can mean a lot of hurt feelings, especially for those people who are very sensitive.

Talk too much?

Talkativeness

The ovals; namely the o’s and a’s are the letters that reveal this trait. See the sample below for the ‘a’ in the word ‘handwriting’. The letter is open at the top.

If the  a’s and o’s are open at the top (throughout the handwriting), this person likes to talk.  In fact, they like to talk so much that they often say the first thing that pops into your head. This may cause them to reveal more than they really meant to, which could lead to hurt feelings. They didn’t mean to offend anyone; they just didn’t think before they spoke.

Sample open letter 'a'If the talkative writer is also SARCASTIC, his/her remarks may be very hurtful and hostile. Look for sharply-pointed t-bars to make that conclusion.

Frankness

Personality Trait Frankness

For the trait of ‘Frankness’ to be present in your handwriting, the ovals in your middle zone must be clear. This means that there must not be any loops or hooks in the oval letters, such as ‘o’ or ‘a’. They can, however, be open or closed. Ovals are always found in the middle zone and they deal with how people communicate. There will be more on ovals at another time.

Frankness

Are your circle letters clear?  If so, you say what you mean without beating around the bush. People generally trust you because they know where they stand with you.  You are honest  with your thoughts and views.  These are good qualities to have, however, being so honest and blunt can have a negative side. There are times when being so outspoken may cause hurt feelings...

Decsiveness

Decisiveness

Being able to come to a final decision can be quite a long process for some people, whereas other individuals are able to make a snap decision. Waiting to have  all the facts and concrete evidence is what a lot people would rather do and then give an immediate decision. There are others who can make rash decisions based on little to no facts, merely agreeing to a one-sided opinion and never changing their views.

Being able to come to a firm decision entails a lot of personal dialogue and possible swaying from another’s point of view, the examples below shows how to spot a persons ability to come to decisive answer.

As you can see the difference between the two; a subtle, but trailing line from the last letter this indicates:

Final strokes firm; no tapering

Tangling Lines

I was recently in a grocery store check-out line and observed a woman pushing her fully-loaded cart up to the check-out. She had two toddlers in tow; one in the jumper seat and one walking beside her. She looked frazzled and her companion was doing her best to hang on to the walking toddler who seemed eager to run off and explore. As they approached the line, her cellphone rang and she plopped her purse on the lap of her sitting-baby and proceeded to rummage through to find the ringing phone. She answered with an exasperated tone and then exclaimed ‘What?….I thought the appointment was at two o’clock?!’. It was clear that she had missed an appointment...

Cautiousness

Prudent hesitation to take any risks.

Being cautious is a basic human trait found in everyone, although some of us are more apprehensive then others. Does the thought of going skydiving, mountain climbing or making a silly bet make your heart race? Some of us look danger in the eye and just go for it, the thrill of overcoming obstacles outweighs any negative repercussions in the end. Weighing the pros and cons carefully can make the odds work in your favour depending on the circumstances, and there have been even a time when things just worked out with no plausible explanation.

Within your handwriting are traits to identify a cautious nature. Leaving your words with long strokes, like the examples below is a easy way to pick out cautiousness in a person.

Past, Present & the Future.

Margins reveal your past, present and future in handwriting.

In my workbook, “How Well Do You Think You Know Yourself?”, the first chapter is about Margins. You may not think much about margins and how it correlates to your past or even your future. Today, we’re going to look a little more into this first chapter.

In handwriting analysis, margins represent the blank spaces that surround any written (or print) text on the page. So, it is not the text that we will be examining, but the borders around it. There areas are just as revealing as the writing that you place on the page.

You may be thinking, what does this have to do with the past and future? Well, let’s dive deeper into the Margin realm…

Margins represent how your emotions and your mental outlook relate to your past, present and future.

  • How do you feel about the past?
  • When you think about...

Manual Dexterity

Manual Dexterity found in handwriting

Sculptors and mechanics  are just two examples of people who  create, repair or learn from using their own hands. Manual Dexterity is a personality trait found in these types of people who prefer to use their hands to express themselves, rather than sit or verbally express themselves. The sense of satisfaction from using his/her own hands to repair or create objects is what people with manual dexterity thrive on.

To identify if a person has the manual dexterity trait, have a close look in their handwriting. You may notice that their letters are like rounded or squared boxes rather than the curvier types of other handwriting. Have a look at the example below to learn how to identify dexterity found in handwriting.

Versatility

Multi-tasker, jack-of-all-trade, being able to handle many tasks at once.

Versatility is the ability to handle many tasks at once in order to complete all of the tasks correctly. Versatile people are great at juggling a multitude of tasks at once; without becoming flustered or upset.

If you’re a person who works in the hospital industry, technology industry, the call centre environment or a stay-at-home mother (to name a few), you know what it takes to be able to keep up with demands and still be able to finish tasks correctly. You most likely display indicators in your handwriting that point to having the trait of Versatility.

Multi-taskers have identifiable traits that can be seen in their slightly fluctuating baseline, the medium-to-large writing size and the balanced loops in the letter ‘f’...
